Adamawa Govt. Set to Commence Construction of Science Schools.

Adamawa State government is set to commence the construction of mega-science secondary schools worth 17 billion naira across the three senatorial districts in the state.

The commissioner for the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Doctor Umar Garba Pella revealed this when engaging with Consultants, Contractors, and Service Providers involved in the construction of the schools.

Doctor Umar Garba Pella, alongside permanent secretary Hajiya Aisha Umar, project coordinator of AGILE Mallam Siddiki Liman, procurement officer Mallam Abubakar Bello and a team of consultants from design associates were at the site of one of the projects at Lamurde Local government.

Doctor Umar Garba Pella emphasized the project will cost the sum of 17 billion, and the schools are to be constructed in the three local governments of Hong, Gulak and Lamurde with a ten-month completion period.

The commissioner of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development lauded the giant stride of Governor Ahmadu fintiri for giving education a topmost priority.

Pella encouraged the three benefiting local governments to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by taking ownership of the project when completed.

He stated that the school is not just a mega school but a science school, saying that the world is headed by science, which will enable the students to compete favourably with their counterparts in other states and, if possible, countries.

Not fewer than twenty-one contractors are engaged in the building of the school in Lamurde. Local government expected to bring in their best and complete the work within the stipulated time to enable the government to admit students by next year, September twenty twenty-five.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Hajiya Aisha Umar, warned the contractors to give in their best or risk contract termination, urging consultants to ensure that contractors handling the projects Carry out all work with design precision.

Responding, the district head/wakilin Bachama, Mr Napwama Istifanus Shemoye and Mr. Jimteno Tonkloso, secretary Lamurde Local government, commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for the initiative of building the mega schools, assuring their unflinching support.
