Governor Fintiri: A professional mason, building a Future Adamawa State. By Mazi Uchenna Nwafor

Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s journey to becoming a professional mason is a testament to dedication, commitment responsibility, and love for his people. He was down to earth in discharging his duties as a leader, building and constructing livelihood infrastructures in roads, markets, hospitals and many others.

In recent years of Adamawa’s history of governance, Governor Finitri has turned the state into a construction site, with no project abandoned halfway but with completion time met or fast-tracked to an early date. This has empowered him to acquire more knowledge and experience in building and construction.

Governor Finitiri, in the history of Adamawa’s democracy and good governance, has constructed more infrastructures than any governor before him, building more complex structures, some of which are first of their kind in Adamawa State and Northeast Nigeria. Some of these include schools, roads, hospitals, markets, sports complexes, etc, which has led the governor to acquire advanced masonry skills.

Masonry, a craft that requires precision, creativity, and physical endurance, involves constructing and repairing structures made of brick, rods, stone, or concrete. This has become Governor Fintiri’s second occupation. He has put his hands in the head pan, scooping mixed cement and sand and fixing pricks to build a structure that shapes the lives of the people in both rural and urban centres. These events are happening week after week as the governor engages in numerous Ground groundbreaking ceremonies for building infrastructures, the recent being the ultra-modern Jimeta Shopping Complex, the first of its kind. The complex is to house high-end retail outlets, food courts, office spaces, recreational areas, religious space, a police station, banking halls and many others, expected to be ready for use in 18 months, creating a commercial hub that will attract investments, foster economic growth, create job opportunities as part of Governor Fintiri’s broader vision to modernize the urban and rural landscape of the state in line with the New Adamawa; serving as a key driver of economic activity, creating a platform for small, medium and large-scale businesses. Through this rigorous and hands-on experience, Fintiri has mastered the art of shaping and bonding policies, funding and materials to create durable and aesthetically pleasing structures for the good and betterment of the people of Adamawa State.

As a leader, Fintiri’s quest is not only underscored by construction but building a future that will stand the test of time, with the projection of a growing economy and population that will need modern houses, markets, expanded, durable and easy access roads and technology for businesses. As a professional mason (Project Master), Governor Fintiri’s government is contributing to building the infrastructures that stand as the backbone of communities, shaping the livelihood of citizens and delivering the dividend of democracy.

Governor Fintiri is indeed an experienced Mason, putting together money and materials to make the people happy, building the New Adamawa, a projection of a Better and greater Nigeria.
