Kefas Seeks Reelection on Record of Experience, Grassroots Impact in Song Constituency.

Hon. Emmanuel Kefas is no longer approaching the people of Song Constituency as a newcomer seeking acceptance. Instead, the lawmaker is returning with the weight of legislative experience, deeper grassroots engagement, and what supporters describe as a clearer understanding of the developmental priorities of his constituents.
Now seeking reelection to the Adamawa State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kefas is anchoring his campaign less on political rhetoric and more on what many observers consider a growing record of responsive representation and practical governance.
In an era where political visibility is often confused with performance, Kefas has steadily cultivated a reputation built around accessibility, constituency engagement, and targeted interventions rather than dramatic public posturing.
Since his election in 2023 as member representing Song Constituency, the lawmaker has increasingly positioned himself as a representative focused on governance outcomes and grassroots responsiveness.
Political analysts note that his first term appears to have significantly shaped his understanding of governance realities within Song Local Government Area. Through engagements with traditional rulers, youth groups, women associations, farmers, traders, students, and vulnerable communities, Kefas has reportedly developed a more refined appreciation of the constituency’s challenges and expectations.
That growing experience is reflected in both his legislative activities and constituency interventions.
Within the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Kefas has sponsored and supported legislative proposals aimed at strengthening local identity and institutional inclusion. Among them are bills seeking the creation of Dumne, Chibawuro, and Gben Districts, alongside the proposed Yungur Chiefdom.
Observers say such initiatives go beyond administrative restructuring, touching broader issues of inclusion, recognition, and equitable representation within the state’s governance framework.
He also supported the Adamawa Indigenous Languages Commission Bill, a move widely viewed as an effort to promote cultural preservation and strengthen local heritage.
As Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Security, Kefas has operated within one of the state’s most sensitive governance sectors. His supporters argue that his preference for dialogue, lawful engagement, and conflict de-escalation reflects a leadership style rooted in stability and responsible governance.
Beyond legislative duties, the lawmaker’s reelection campaign is expected to draw heavily from his constituency projects and community-based interventions across Song LGA.
Several communities, including Koti and Balma, benefited from transformer installations under his representation, while rehabilitation support was reportedly extended to portions of the Loko–Dumne Road. Boreholes, hand pumps, and water projects were also executed in communities such as Dirma, Dumne, Song Waje, Sigire, Gudu/Mboi, Suktu Zumo, and Song Gari.
Although not categorized as large-scale infrastructure projects, residents say the interventions have directly impacted everyday living conditions in many rural communities.
In the education sector, Kefas facilitated scholarships and bursaries for students, alongside classroom construction, renovation projects, and the distribution of educational materials. His empowerment programmes also included vocational support and financial assistance for youths and women, including the distribution of sewing machines to beneficiaries.
Healthcare and humanitarian interventions similarly formed part of his constituency outreach efforts. These included medical outreaches, cholera response interventions in Ba’awo Community, rehabilitation support for the Primary Health Care Clinic in Pulle-Yanka, and emergency relief assistance to vulnerable residents.
As the 2027 political season gathers momentum, supporters of the APC lawmaker argue that his reelection bid represents a case for continuity, experience, and sustained constituency engagement.
For many political observers, the central message emerging from Kefas’ campaign is that governance should not merely be about political excitement, but about steady leadership, institutional understanding, and practical service delivery.
In a political climate often dominated by noise and spectacle, Hon. Emmanuel Kefas appears determined to present a different argument to the people of Song Constituency — that leadership is ultimately measured not by loud promises, but by consistent responsibility and tangible impact.
