NEDC Commends Progress on Bole Bridge, Youth Development Centre in Adamawa.

The North East Development Commission has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on two major infrastructure projects in Adamawa State — a five-span bridge in Bole and a Youth Development Centre in Shagari Lelewalji, Yola South Local Government Area.
The commendation came during an inspection tour of the project sites led by Musa Hyeladi, who represented the Adamawa State Coordinator of the Commission, Barrister Khalifa M. Lawan. The delegation was accompanied by technical personnel and other officials from the state office
Speaking during the visit, Hyeladi described the level of work on the Bole bridge project as impressive, noting that the contractor had demonstrated commitment to quality delivery and timely execution.
According to him, the bridge, which is now nearing completion, will play a vital role in restoring connectivity and improving the socio-economic wellbeing of communities in the area.
“We are overwhelmed with the level of work done on this five-span bridge. Upon completion, the project will restore connectivity, improve transportation, boost economic activities, and enhance access to farms, markets, schools, and healthcare services for communities within this axis,” he said.
Earlier, the Head of the Technical Team, Engineer Joseph Francis, briefed the inspection team on the scope and progress of the projects, highlighting their expected impact on the host communities and the wider North-East region.
The delegation also inspected the ongoing construction of the Youth Development Centre at Shagari Lelewalji, a facility designed to provide vocational training, skills acquisition, and empowerment opportunities for young people.
Officials of the Commission noted that the centre would contribute significantly to youth empowerment efforts by equipping beneficiaries with practical skills capable of enhancing self-reliance and employment opportunities.
Responding on behalf of the contractor, Ghassan Ghanem, Project Manager of Traicta Construction Limited, appreciated the Commission for its continued support and cooperation throughout the execution of the projects.
He assured the Commission that the company remained committed to delivering quality projects within the agreed timeline and according to required standards.
The projects form part of the NEDC Master Plan initiative aimed at connecting communities, improving infrastructure, stimulating local economic activities, and promoting long-term development and stability across the North-East region.
Residents of Bole and neighbouring communities are expected to benefit from improved transportation access, increased trade and investment opportunities, and enhanced social integration once the projects are completed.
