Adamawa Hikers Group Reaches Out to Sixty-five Hospitalized Individuals

The Adamawa State Hikers Group weekend dolled out a cash donation to sixty-five patients at the Specialist Hospital Yola.

This is the second phase of the outreach, of which a similar exercise was carried out last year.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen, the Adamawa state Chief Hiker, Mr Lazarus Daniel, explained that the gesture was out of human feelings.

According to him, a lot of people need help, especially the sick, hence the decision to give the five thousand naira cash donation each to the beneficiaries.

Mr. Daniel, who said the humanitarian gesture is done once a year by the group, urged those interested to feel free and join.

He pointed out that for now, the group does not assess assistance from anybody or group, adding that members contribute among themselves to reach out to the needy.

The Chief Hiker encouraged members to be resilient and continue to commit to the course of the group and humanity in general.

In their separate remarks, the Prince and Princess of Adamawa Hikers, Chukukwa Ignatius and Habiba Dalilu expressed satisfaction for having assisted.

They applauded the members for their cooperation and appreciated God for allowing them to help.

Hikers are a group of individuals who embark on or take a long walk for pleasure or exercise.
