The Council Chairman of Numan local government of Adamawa state, Mr. Innocent Koto, has presented a budget of over ten billion naira for 2025 before the legislative council.
During the budget presentation, Mr Koto stated that the budget aims to provide dividends of democracy and to support the eight-point agenda of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for good governance.
The Majority Leader of the Numan Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Akin Clarkson, moved a motion to invite the Council Chairman for the budget presentation, which was seconded by Favour Nicholas Diyale, the Councillor representing Numan One Ward.
In his presentation, Mr Koto expressed gratitude to the people of the Numan local government area for their trust in his administration. He also thanked the stakeholders of the local government for their ongoing guidance in development efforts.
Mr. Koto commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing essential infrastructural facilities across the twenty-one local government areas.
He emphasized that this year’s budget is designed to build, consolidate, sustain, and deliver a thriving economic environment, ensuring a stable, peaceful, and secure community where residents can enjoy the benefits of governance.
Additionally, Mr Koto acknowledged the achievements of the Numan local government under the 2024 budget, which amounted to over six billion nairas, noting a commendable success rate of fifty-four per cent despite various challenges.
Some of the achievements he highlighted for 2024 included the provision of agricultural equipment to boost farming, empowerment programs, and the installation of solar lights to enhance the operations of security agencies, among others.
Mr Koto also informed the legislative council that the 2025 fiscal year budget aligns with the eight-point agenda of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
In response, the Leader of the Numan Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Hapiyati Calvin, commended Mr Koto for the advancements made in the local government area. He assured him of the swift passage of the budget at the appropriate time to ensure continued provision of development and infrastructure for the people of the Numan local government area.
