The intervention, according to the Association, is aimed at bringing comfort and hope to families who lost homes, farmlands, and livelihoods to the devastating floods.

The donation exercise, which took place at Hong, was led by the State Chairman of CAN, Rev. Dr. Joel Manzo, alongside the Chairman of the Relief Materials Distribution Committee, Rev. Dr. Victor Saje.

In his remarks, Rev. Dr. Joel Manzo described the flooding as a tragic occurrence that has deepened the suffering of already vulnerable households. He said the Association, beyond its spiritual role, remains committed to humanitarian service and the promotion of peaceful coexistence in society.

“We are here today not only as Christians but as fellow human beings sharing in the pain of our brothers and sisters in Hong. The floods have brought untold hardship, but we believe that with collective compassion and action, victims can rebuild their lives. This gesture is a reminder that no one should be left alone in times of crisis,” he stated.

Rev. Dr. Manzo urged residents to remain united and resilient, while calling on government, corporate bodies, and other faith-based organizations to intensify efforts in assisting communities affected by natural disasters across the state.

Also addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the Relief Distribution Committee, Rev. Dr. Victor Saje, explained that the relief materials were carefully sourced and tailored to meet the immediate needs of victims. Items distributed included foodstuffs, clothing, bedding, and other household essentials.

“Our committee has worked closely with community leaders to identify the most vulnerable victims. This effort is not just about material aid—it is about rekindling hope and showing that they are not forgotten.  We urge you to  ensured that the distribution process is fair and transparent so that every affected family has access to support,”Rev. Saje emphasized.

Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, Pst Samson Sidi who is the CAN coordinator in Hong, expressed gratitude to Adamawa CAN for the intervention, describing it as a timely lifeline in their struggle to survive after the disaster.

“This support from CAN shows that love and humanity come before anything else. We are deeply touched by this gesture, and it will help many families who lost everything.”

Shortly after the event, the CAN Chairman led the relief distribution committee to the office of the Council Chairman of Hong where they expressed appreciation for his efforts in providing succour to the flood victims. He appreciates CAN for the gesture to members describing it as timely.
