Chief Dr. Maurice Vunobolki has officially declared his governorship ambition in Adamawa State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The aspirant made the declaration during a courtesy visit to the PDP State Secretariat in Yola, where he formally presented himself before the party’s leadership and stakeholders.
Addressing party officials, Vunobolki described his return to the PDP as a deliberate and strategic decision, noting that the party remains the most viable platform to actualize his vision for Adamawa State.
“I have come back home to the PDP to pursue my aspiration of becoming the number one citizen of Adamawa State. This is a party that understands the needs of our people,” he said.
He stressed that his ambition is driven by a desire to entrench good governance and accelerate development across the state. He further pledged to operate an inclusive administration that would prioritize unity, equity, and service delivery.
According to him, his government, if elected, would focus on improving critical sectors, creating job opportunities, and ensuring that the benefits of democracy are felt in both urban and rural communities.
“My administration will be people-oriented. We will ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunities for all, while delivering meaningful development projects that impact lives,” Vunobolki added.
In his remarks, the PDP Caretaker State Chairman, Belmont Dogo, welcomed the aspirant back into the party, describing his return as a boost to the PDP’s strength in Adamawa.
Dogo assured Vunobolki of the party’s support, emphasizing that the PDP remains committed to internal democracy and the success of its candidates in future elections.
“We are ready to work with all aspirants to ensure victory. The PDP is united and determined to continue leading Adamawa State towards greater development,” he said.
The development comes as political realignments continue to shape the landscape in Adamawa, with parties and aspirants intensifying consultations ahead of the next governorship race.
