Yola, Nigeria — Prominent public figure and advocate for civic engagement, Maurice Vunobolki, has called on eligible Nigerians to take immediate advantage of INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), scheduled for Monday 11th May, 2026, describing citizen participation as the cornerstone of a thriving democracy.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Vunobolki emphasized that the strength of any democratic system lies not only in leadership but in the active involvement of its people. “Your voice, your choice, and your vote remain the most powerful tools you possess,” he stated, urging citizens not to take the process lightly.
The appeal comes amid ongoing efforts by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to expand voter access and update the national register ahead of future elections.
Vunobolki encouraged Nigerians to either register for the first time or update their existing details to ensure they are not excluded from the electoral process.
He added that the ability to shape that future begins with being properly registered. He warned against complacency, noting that failure to act could lead to disenfranchisement.

Framing the call as both a civic duty and a personal responsibility, Vunobolki urged citizens across communities to “step out, take action, and be counted.”
As Nigeria continues to strengthen its democratic institutions, voices like Vunobolki’s underscore a growing push for broader political participation—one that places the power of change firmly in the hands of the electorate.
