The Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Umar Garba Pella, urged information officers in the twenty-one local governments to act as the government’s representatives in their communities.

He instructed them to report both positive and negative issues in the education sector.

Dr. Pella conveyed this message during a two-day capacity-building workshop for twenty-one local government information officers and relevant stakeholders.

The workshop, focusing on the principles and practices of education communication, was organized by Adamawa State Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) at Kinasar Hotel.

Dr Pella, represented by Permanent Secretary Hajiya Aisha Umar, stated that the training aimed to promote education activities in the state, highlighting the significance of education as a top priority for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.

He attributed this year’s exceptional student performance to the administration’s strong emphasis on education.

The workshop’s objective was to enhance the capacity of information officers to effectively communicate and promote education activities in their local governments, thereby contributing to the overall development of the state’s education sector.

During the event, the Project Coordinator of Global Partnership for Education, Mr Michael Medugu, explained that the training equipped information officers with the knowledge to promptly report emergency issues in the education sector to the ministry for immediate action.

Additionally, each participant was provided with an Android phone to facilitate their work.
