Adamawa State House of Assembly has confirmed Mr George Kushi as the Part-time Chairman of the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Market Board, as nominated by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The House’s confirmation came after receiving a report from its Committee on Commerce and Industry, which screened the Chairman. The report was presented by the Member representing Mubi North Constituency and Vice-Chairman of the Committee during Monday’s plenary session.
Mr Pwamwakeno Mackondo, the member representing Numan Constituency, commended the Committee for their work and called for the confirmation of the nominee. Following this, the Majority Leader of the House, Mrs. Kate Raymond Mamuno, moved for the adoption of the report and the confirmation of the nominee, which was unanimously approved by the house.
Speaker Bathiya Wesley, who presided over the Plenary, instructed the clerk of the house to communicate the house’s decision to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for further action.
It is worth noting that on September 10, 2024, the house received a letter from Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, requesting the screening and confirmation of a nominee as part-time chairman of the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Market Board.
