ADAMAWA GOVERNANCE: Press Secretary Hosts Breakfast, Acknowledges Journalists for Professional Reporting.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Adamawa State, Humwashi Wonosikou, has hosted a breakfast meeting to recognize and appreciate the valuable contributions of Yola-based journalists who prioritize fact-based reporting and uphold high standards of professional integrity.

At the Government House banquet hall in Yola, Humwashi expressed his appreciation for the journalists’ collaboration and support over the past year.

He highlighted their essential roles in reporting news, sharing important stories, and holding public officials accountable.

“In an era where misinformation can spread quickly, your dedication to accuracy and journalistic integrity is more crucial than ever. Your relentless pursuit of the truth, despite challenges, is commendable,” Humwashi remarked.

He continued, “As the Press Secretary to the Governor of Adamawa State, I have had the privilege of engaging with many of you. Your insightful questions and constructive feedback have been instrumental in helping us communicate our policies, programs, and initiatives more effectively.”

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Edgar Amos, also took the opportunity to praise the journalists for their fair and unbiased reporting, which has effectively showcased the Governor’s commitment to good governance on both a local and global stage.

During the event, Ishaka Dedan, the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Adamawa State, along with Padio Phineas, who heads the Correspondents’ Chapel, and other participants, shared highlights of the administration’s achievements.

They applauded the state government for fostering a peaceful and supportive environment that enables journalists to excel in their important work.
