ASSET FUNDS SCHEME: YEDC Begins Implementation of 1,880 New Meters for Band A Customers.

The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has officially launched its Meter Acquisition Funds (MAF) program, which aims to provide meters to unmetered Band A customers within its service area.

According to a statement from YEDC’s Communications Officer, Blessing Tunoh, this initiative is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to ensure accurate billing and enhance customer satisfaction.

“With the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) approving the MAF process, YEDC will deploy a total of 1,880 meters. This includes 1,500 single-phase meters and 380 three-phase meters,” Tunoh stated.

The installation of these meters will be conducted by approved meter vendors over a two-week period, from November 18 to November 30, 2024. Tunoh also noted that the MAF project is part of the Presidential Metering Initiative, which was launched on June 13, 2024, to accelerate metering for electricity consumers nationwide.

“Importantly, the meters obtained through this program will be installed at no cost to YEDC customers. We encourage all Band A customers to cooperate with the installers when they visit their homes and businesses during the metering exercise,” Tunoh emphasized.

YEDC is dedicated to improving the quality of electricity distribution and ensuring that all customers receive reliable and transparent services.
