The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Adamawa State chapter has commiserated with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as well as the citizens over the fire disaster which affected Specialist Hospital, Yola.
The leadership of the association, in a statement by its Chairman, Rev. Dr Joel Danjuma Manzo, said that the Christian community was deeply saddened by the fire incident at the facility where citizens visit to see doctors for medical attention.
Rev. Dr Joel Danjuma pointed out that the sympathetic hearts of the Christian faithful are with the Governor, the government, patients, staff, and people affected by what he described as an unwarranted tragedy.
“I appeal to the government and the citizens of Adamawa State to please accept our sincere condolences for the loss of the property which eventually led to the disruption of essential healthcare services.
“I can only imagine the challenges this incident has posed for the Governor’s administration, the citizens and the immediate community concern.
“Your Excellency, as you lead the response and recovery effort, I want to assure you of our relentless prayers, support and solidarity for your good intention in protecting lives and property in line with your developmental strides”, said Manzo.
He said that CAN is very sure that Fintiri’s transparent leadership will investigate the incident to find out the root cause of the disaster to prevent future occurrences.
He prayed to God to grant him wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state, saying he was confident that Fintiri’s administration would rebuild and equip the affected facilities to the dishonour of the saboteurs.
