The issue of genocide against Christians in Nigeria at first appeared to be comical . Initially some political actors took a recalcitrant position of boasting that the United States could be toyed with ,prominent among these was a former governor of one of the North western states who thought in his fantasy that what he seems right goes for all Nigerians. Myopically he thought that his ant- like rantings could cow the US. How mistaken was he now that the President of the US has made it clear that he means business. The Secretary War of the United States has made it clear that the military might of the US of America and that “there will be no sanctuaries ,no negotiations” with ISWAP, BOKO HARAM and other terrorists in Nigeria.
It now appears that the frustrated and loud mouthed clowns have started making a rethink on their previous misconception of their invincibility and have started taking trips to imagined safe havens. When George Bush said that the USA will smoke out Bin Laden ,it took about ten years ,but in the end they did him in. Only fools in modern times can imagine what is at stake and still think that fleeing Nigeria will protect them from the long ,far-reaching hands of the USA. Recent shifts in military strategy makes it abundantly clear that it will not take long to track and bring to Justice those that joke with people’s lives.
When a country like the USA says it will deal with terrorist and their sponsors in Nigeria there is no reason to joke with the matter if the president said so in the open. The USA is the leader in all seven types of warfare’s ,on land, sea, air, subterranean, cyber war, and space The foolishness of many amongst Nigeria’s (elites) is that they think the USA forces will come with men “guns a-blazing”. Have they not learnt anything from the way Israel hammared Hamas,or how they pursued the leadership of Hamas to Oman. They did these without carrying body-bags back home. Some of the war- mongers appear to have learnt a lesson or two and seem to have the sense to vamoose the country. It appears like the game is up for them.
The mill of Justice grinds slowly ,but surely. The notion that both Christians and Muslims are victims of the genocide in the the country is not a tenable excuse to stay the hand of the USA. On ground,it is a known fact that even Muslim Hausa are facing an existence threat on the same country which is basically what the USA authorities are out to correct. These terrorists and their sponsors know what they are up to. Religion was only a tool employed dominate and later totally destroy others to take control of the country called Nigeria.
Now that the United States’ government has decided to do the bidding of those APC guys in 2014 who reported Goodluck Jonathan in a bid to stop the genocide in the country, the genocide has now taken a new coloration. The exit from Nigeria to the Niger Republic by “gentlemen” invited for war should Buhari be defeated at the polls,are now running at the news that hail will consume if they tarry a little longer. In some parts of the Northeast,some of the Sambisa residents are fast trying blend into larger society. Now that the cat can be heard from afar ,the mice are beating the gun.
Maybe in this frightful moment of approaching judgement,we may hear the names of the sponsors of terror that the government of Nigeria has had failed ,or have been unwilling to reveal. Sooner or later , probably much sooner than we have hoped, the cocks will come home to roost.
