
Former Senator representing Adamawa South Senatorial District, Ahmad Abubakar Mo-Allahyidi, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Senate seat in the 2027 general elections, pledging to consolidate on past achievements and attract more federal projects to the zone.
Mo-Allahyidi made the declaration on Thursday during a press conference held at the Government Lodge in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Addressing party faithful, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youths, women groups, and members of the media, the former lawmaker said his decision to seek a return to the National Assembly followed extensive consultations with stakeholders across the nine local government areas of the senatorial district.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Adamawa South for the opportunity given to him to serve in the 8th National Assembly from 2015 to 2019, noting that his tenure was driven by inclusive and people-oriented development.

The former senator highlighted several projects executed during his time in office, particularly in the areas of road infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, and youth empowerment.
According to him, major road projects facilitated during his tenure included the Mayo-Belwa–Jada–Ganye–Toungo Federal Road, the Ganye–Daksami Road, Sangasumi–Yelwa Road, and the Gandona Bridge project in Ganye Local Government Area.
He also listed rehabilitation works on major roads linking communities such as Cham–Numan, Numan–Mayolope, Mayo-Belwa–Zing, Numan–Guyuk, and Numan–Biu through interventions by the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
On education, Mo-Allahyidi said he facilitated the construction and upgrading of classroom blocks in several schools across Demsa, Numan, Shelleng, Ganye, and Jada local government areas.

He further disclosed that he supported the rehabilitation of special needs schools, nomadic education centres, and the establishment of skills acquisition centres equipped with ICT and solar facilities.
In the healthcare and water sectors, the APC chieftain said he facilitated the rehabilitation of the Ponduwe Spring Water Scheme in Guyuk, constructed water reservoirs and reticulation systems in Jada, and provided industrial boreholes across the nine local government areas of the district.
He added that a community health clinic was established in Sabon Pegi, Numan Local Government Area, while several empowerment initiatives and job opportunities were also secured for youths in the district.

Mo-Allahyidi noted that he sponsored bills seeking the establishment of a Federal College of Forestry in Toungo and a Federal College of Mining and Geological Studies in Guyuk, alongside motions aimed at addressing infrastructural deficits in the zone.
Speaking on his 2027 agenda, the former senator said his focus would be on completing ongoing projects, attracting more federal institutions, promoting agricultural development, and ensuring effective representation for the people of Adamawa South.
Among the projects he pledged to pursue are the completion of the Mayo-Belwa–Jada–Ganye–Toungo Federal Road, actualization of the proposed federal colleges in Guyuk and Toungo, establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Mayo-Belwa, a Federal University of Health Sciences in Shelleng, and a Federal University of Information Technology in Numan.
He also promised to facilitate the establishment of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the nine local government areas and create a hybrid farm school to support youths interested in agriculture.
Mo-Allahyidi stressed that his ambition was not driven by personal interest but by the desire to continue serving the people and sustaining development in the district.
He called on traditional rulers, women, youths, professionals, and party supporters to unite and support his renewed bid, assuring that his politics would remain rooted in peace, inclusiveness, and development.
The former senator reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he commended for his commitment to national development.

He also commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for promoting free and fair political processes in the state.
