Lamido Adamawa, Dr. Barkindo Mustapha met with the managing director of Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) and called for increased investment in the training of the company’s staff to improve service delivery.
The royal father made this call during a courtesy visit by the managing director of YEDC, Engineer Abdulrahman Isah, and his management team to Lamido’s palace.
Represented by the Wali Adamawa, Alhaji Aminu Abdulkadir Mba Mba, who welcomed the YEDC delegation, the Lamido acknowledged the services provided by the company in power supply.
He advised the managing director and his team to focus on training their staff, emphasizing the importance of customer relations, interface, peace, and persuasion in any business.
Dr Barkindo Mustapha acknowledged the challenges facing the power sector and urged the YEDC not to relent in their services to humanity despite the challenges.

During the visit, Engineer Abdulrahman Isah stated that YEDC’s mandate is to distribute electricity to four states: Adamawa, Yobe, Borno, and Taraba.
He explained that the company only receives two and a half per cent of the energy generated in the country, which is then distributed among the four states.

Engineer Abdulrahman Isah also highlighted the challenges faced by their customers due to high costs, inflation, and vandalism.
He emphasized the company’s commitment to providing better service and seeking guidance to improve service delivery.
He mentioned that vandalism has become a menace, with around thirty-seven transformers vandalized, including seven in Yola and twenty in Yobe State, among others.
