The Adamawa state government is dedicated to empowering young people through various initiatives aimed at creating a productive, self-reliant, and poverty-free society.

As part of this effort, the government has provided tools to master trainers in four trade sectors to empower young people across the 21 local government areas.

This initiative is part of an inclusive basic service delivery and livelihood empowerment integrated program, supported by the African Development Bank, aimed at fostering skilled, innovative, empowered, and productive individuals in the state.

Over the years, the government has empowered many young people in different trades and has also intervened in the water sector and other social amenities to improve the citizens’ livelihoods.

The recent distribution of tools aimed to upgrade over 200 master trainers in four trade sectors – mechanics, tailoring, panel beating, and welding – to empower more young people in different trades across the local government areas.

The project’s coordinators, Esly Emmanuel and Annah Alahira, emphasized that the initiative aligns with Governor Fintiri’s vision to enhance the lives of the people, especially the youth.

They expressed appreciation to the governor for creating an enabling environment for the project and urged the master trainers to nurture more young people in various trades within their respective communities after being empowered.

Stakeholders also encouraged the master trainers to make effective use of the tools provided.

During the event, the project’s legal adviser, Barrister Hamidu Murtala, and evaluation officer Aisha Yusuf Isa, revealed that strategic mechanisms were in place to monitor and evaluate the performance of the master trainers and ensure compliance.

Beneficiaries, including Fibi Andrew Musa and Rimandeya Ibrahim, expressed satisfaction with the project’s intervention and highlighted its positive impact on the lives of many young people across Adamawa. The event also featured a symbolic presentation of tools to the master trainers.
